Compartment Syndrome occurs when muscle tissue, nerves and blood vessels contained within the compartments swell and expand while the fascia separating the compartments do not. The pressure within the compartment grows until it exceeds the pressure in the veins, meaning the blood cannot flow properly and oxygen cannot get to the muscles or nerves.

Acute Compartment Syndrome usually occurs after a serious injury, whilst Chronic Compartment Syndrome can be caused by heavy and prolonged exercise. This is one of the reasons it is more commonly seen in the military environment than in any other.

We will arrange for your client to be examined by an experienced Vascular Surgeon who will complete a detailed report on your client’s condition.

Non-Freezing Cold Injury develops after sustained exposure to cold temperatures between 0 and 15°C. This is often combined with wet conditions and leads to tissue cooling but not freezing. As a result, those affected will feel persistent sensory disturbance of the hands and feet, including numbness, paraesthesia and chronic pain.

In order to obtain compensation from the Ministry of Defence, we will arrange for your client to be examined by an experienced Vascular Surgeon who will complete a detailed report on your client’s condition.

PTSD is a psychiatric disorder that can occur after having an extremely stressful and upsetting experience. Those in the armed forces have an increased likelihood of being exposed to such conditions which may leave them vulnerable to the disorder.

Sufferers may have symptoms such as headaches, migraines and fatigue; nightmares and flashbacks; and depression and anxiety.
